IN STILLNESS WE MOVE
This body of work explores the profound connection between the self and the spaces we inhabit through an engaging investigation of personal experiences, emotions, & memories tied to both physical & metaphysical environments.
The inherent Monotony of Life within spaces is contemplated using miniature techniques while acknowledging the significance of diverse materials. The Letter Series transforms these spaces into a visual language, drawing inspiration from written correspondences received from others. These letters act as windows into the thoughts & experiences of various individuals, deeply influencing my artistic practice.
The work concludes with a collaborative piece created alongside visual artist Nain Tara. Through our distinct practices, we embody contemporary & modern sensibilities while exploring themes of displacement, home & nostalgia. Inspired by personal experiences, this piece draws from observations of global migration & cultural shifts. Crockery, a universal domestic object, plays a significant role in this work. The juxtaposition of found ceramic materials imbued with history & craftsmanship, alongside strokes of paint & drawings, symbolises the complexity of human existence. The depiction of displaced elements nestled amidst a landscape of nostalgia & negative space reflects the universal longing for a place to call home.
By intertwining my perspective with the stories shared by others, this work captures the essence of human connection & the profound influence of spaces on our identities
